FAQ – senior sessions

Do I have to use the school yearbook company?

LDP does not take the formal photographs for the yearbook; my sessions are outdoor lifestyle portraits, that you will be sharing with the most important people in your life.

Why should I have Lisa Dempski Photography take my senior pictures?

Graduating from high school is a major event in your life and individualized attention is needed to create special images. I want these portrait sessions to be fun and a reflection of you. I am not just taking pictures for social media, I’m making memories for you and your family.

Can I bring along props? What about pets?

Yes and yes. You can bring your instrument, sports uniform and equipment, dirt bike, or anything that represents you! This is your photo session and it should be unique.

What happens if it rains during my photo shoot?

LDP will reschedule your session for the next available date at your convenience. If you need to reschedule, please call as soon as possible (at least 24-48 hours in advance).

Should I get a tan?

There’s a possibility that tan lines will show unless you tan evenly. Tan at your own risk.

Will you retouch my senior pictures, if needed?

LDP will remove blemishes and stray hairs (if it’s not too many) at no extra charge. Retouching of braces, weight reduction, and glasses (glare) is additional if requested. The safest option is to check with your eye doctor and ask if they’ll loan you a similar pair without lenses. Or wear contacts or no glasses.

Can I have all the images of the session?

You will be given low res images to repost on social media. All images remain the property of Lisa Dempski Photography and are protected by federal copyright laws. High resolution images (that are edited) can be purchased in bundles, at a separate price.

What payment methods to you accept?

Cash, PayPal, Square. No checks please.

What kind of products do you offer?

We offer canvas gallery wraps, custom framing, standouts, wood, albums, flat cards/announcements, and metal prints. I work with each client to assist you selecting the perfect style of displays for your images in your home.

How long will it take to get my order?

Approximately 2-3 weeks.

Can friends and parents attend my photo shoot?

Friends or parents are welcome and often can be of help. However, if they distract you, it may be best to meet them when the session is over.

Where will my picture be taken?

I prefer to go the extra mile and photograph you at locations that are special to you, so your pictures have more meaning (e.g., your home, places where you have grown up or spend a lot of time, places you have always admired for their beauty). I have my own favorite locations as well, so we can make recommendations to suit your needs.

The Planning Session

Before your photo shoot, we meet with you a parent to get to know you and plan your photo shoot. During your consultation, we explore your ideas, interests, activities, accomplishments and other things that make you special. We work with you to translate those ideas into an actionable plan to create memorial images. We’ll cover everything from locations, clothing, the time and any special concerns or requests. After we’re done, we will send you a copy of the plan to review and help you prepare for your photo shoot. The plan helps everyone involved stay on the same page and know what to expect. It’s not unusual for our clients to want to make changes before the photo shoot so don’t hesitate to give us a call with your ideas or changes. Changes to the plan can have consequences you might not be aware of so be sure to stay in touch so we can help advise about possible tradeoffs and make sure you get the images you are expecting. I prefer to meet our clients in person; however if that is not practical, we can meet with you over the phone as long as both you and one of your parents can be on the call together.
